Muskoka Concert Association

A MUSKOKA TRADITION SINCE 1947

       About MCA

The Muskoka Concert Association began in 1947 under the sponsorship of the Gravenhurst Rotary Club.  Today the organization runs as a community-based association, directed by a volunteer Board.  It is one of the longest-running concert associations in Ontario.

The objectives of the Association are three-fold:  to enhance the awareness and enjoyment of classical music for all age groups; to provide at a reasonable cost a variety of quality musical performances, accessible to all, in community facilities; and to endeavour to sponsor musical outreach events for students.

Some of Canada's finest artists who have appeared for the MCA include soprano Lois Marshall, bass Jan Rubes, contralto Maureen Forrester, tenor Jon Vickers, guitarist Liona Boyd, the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, pianist Anton Kuerti, and the Aradia Ensemble.

This year marks the Association's 65th season.  In acknowledgement of this 'senior' milestone, the MCA presents Young at Heart, a tribute to young and accomplished Canadian performers, and to you, the audience, who has supported the Association for sixty-five years!  Please join us at the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre for the gala fundraising event that will open this outstanding season with cheer.  As always, you are welcome to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments in the Trillium Court following each performance at the Gravenhurst Opera House.
